November of 2012 The City Of Pembroke Pines commissioned a mural to be located on the exterior wall of City Hall in Pembroke Pines. Funded in part by Whole Foods, they wanted a Holiday themed piece.
I had the idea to create a huge Cornucopia with all the Holidays represented. Images of Thanksgiving, Christmas, Chanukah, Kwanza and New Years Eve were depicted, spilling out of a Horn Of Plenty.
The sketch for the project was submitted and approved. I was going to Paint “The Holiday Cornucopia." I had the opportunity to interact with the public as they went about their business in and out of City Hall. The most frequently asked question was how do you manage to paint the images and keep track of the designs when the mural is almost three stories high? My answer “I just feel it, that, a lot of practice and many years of experience.
” The Mural was so well received over the Holidays, that when it was scheduled to come down, the City decided to create a new piece to represent Valentines Day and Presidents Day. Pembroke Pines prides itself on being an all-inclusive community, so I presented the idea of theme that would include a message to “Love Thy Neighbor”
