As a part of my one year Residency at Studio 18 in Pembroke Pines, I had the opportunity to paint the portico that patrons walk through when attending a PPTOPA’s show at the Nancy B. Katz Theater at the River of Grass Arts Park.

I was asked to design a mural in keeping with the preexisting art at theater. Comedy and Tragedy was a perfect fit. I presented the sketch and it was approved by the Pembroke Pines Arts Advisory Board.

Once completed a ribbon cutting ceremony was planned for the unveiling of the mural. It was an amazing community event as we cut the ribbon at sunset. Mayor Frank C. Ortis presented me with a bouquet of flowers and certificate from the City. 

Everyone in attendance received a signed print of “ The Zebra & The Snake”. We ate, we drank and we socialized; a great time was had by all!
